According to the Gwangju University GTEP Project Group on the 13th, Jeon Geon-woo (Department of Logistics and Trade, 4th year), who successfully led overseas marketing by participating in international exhibitions held in Jeju, Busan, and Seoul together with local small and medium enterprises, was honored with the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award.
Along with this, Son Hyo-jin (Department of Hotel and Tourism Management, 4th year), who actively supported the discovery of products and export market development activities for local small and medium enterprises that faced difficulties in pioneering overseas markets due to COVID-19 last year, received the Korea International Trade Association President Award.
In addition, for contributions to trade infrastructure and national social development, Bukak Maeul Co., Ltd. (CEO Jang Hyo-geun), an industry-academic cooperation company of Gwangju University, achieved the honor of receiving a commendation from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
Since 2007, Gwangju University, selected for the 'Regional Specialized Youth Trade Expert Training Project (GTEP)' for 15 consecutive years, selects 35 students annually and implements programs such as foreign language learning, trade practice education, and e-commerce training, producing excellent results.
In particular, students belonging to the GTEP Project Group participate in more than 20 various domestic and international exhibitions together with local small and medium enterprises, gaining field experience and growing into trade experts through activities supporting overseas marketing and export operations.
Meanwhile, the Gwangju University GTEP Project Group, which held the 14th graduation ceremony and the 15th inauguration ceremony on the 8th, has produced about 420 prospective trade experts and actively plays a leading role in supporting exports of local companies by participating in more than 260 domestic and international fairs and export consultation meetings with local small and medium enterprises.
