[Asia Economy New York=Correspondent Baek Jong-min] The White House said on the 12th (local time) regarding the 'Semiconductor and Supply Chain Restoration CEO Meeting' that "this is not a place for decisions or announcements."

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki stated at the briefing that President Joe Biden attended the meeting to directly hear the industry's opinions.

She added, "This issue can be best resolved both in the short term and the long term."

Jake Sullivan, National Security Council (NSC) Advisor, and Brian Deese, National Economic Council (NEC) Director, convened a virtual meeting attended by CEOs of 19 related companies to respond to the global semiconductor chip shortage and automobile manufacturing halt. President Biden, who was not originally scheduled to attend, also participated briefly.

From Samsung Electronics, Choi Si-young, President of the Foundry Business Division, attended the meeting that day.

Meanwhile, Press Secretary Psaki evaluated the battery dispute settlement between LG Chem and SK Innovation as "building trust and responsibility as suppliers to the U.S. automotive industry."
