[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 12th that it conducted safety and human rights education for public officials at the Yunsangwon Hall of the district office.
This education was held to commemorate the 7th anniversary of the April 16 Sewol Ferry Disaster and National Safety Day, and to enhance the human rights sensitivity of public officials as subjects of safety and human rights protection, as well as to raise safety awareness.
Yu Kyung-geun, Executive Director of the 4·16 Sewol Ferry Disaster Families Association, served as the first session lecturer, emphasizing the importance of human rights and justice under the theme "The Sewol Ferry Disaster and the Process of Truth Investigation, and the Path We Must All Take Together."
In the second session, Kim Mi-sook, Chairperson of the Kim Yong-gyun Foundation, highlighted the current state of safety management and human rights in society with the topic "The Process Walked to Create a Safe Working Environment and What Can Be Done to Build a Safe Society."
Kim Sam-ho, Mayor of Gwangsan-gu, said, "Gwangsan-gu set safety as a major goal of the 7th local government administration and, together with citizens, discovered and improved dangerous spots in streets and alleys." He added, "Building on this experience, all public officials will work together toward a world without industrial accidents, a world without accidents, and a world where everyone lives safely and happily."
