Hyundai Motor's Large-Scale Customized Recruitment of New and Experienced Talent for 'Future Vehicle Developers'


[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] Hyundai Motor Company is accelerating its recruitment of personnel to jointly create future mobility. To transition into a sustainable smart mobility solutions company, it is hiring a large number of tailored talents regardless of whether they are new graduates or experienced professionals.


According to Hyundai Motor on the 12th, the company is conducting recruitment for experienced employees across all departments of the Research and Development (R&D) headquarters from today until the 28th. The recruitment fields include a total of 11 areas: vehicle development, digital engineering, autonomous driving, infotainment, electronic systems, fuel cells, electrification and batteries, advanced development, technology management, and design. The qualifications for applicants are those with relevant experience in the respective fields or those who hold (or are expected to hold) a doctoral degree. Hyundai Motor is securing talent not only by hiring experienced workers but also by recruiting new graduates and conversion-type interns. Previously, from the 29th of last month until today, Hyundai Motor has been conducting recruitment for triple-digit numbers of new employees in 13 fields including vehicle development project management, R&D technology management, autonomous driving system development, engineering data management, and platform development.


In addition to securing talent in vehicle technologies such as autonomous driving and electric vehicles, Hyundai Motor is also strengthening competitiveness in the robotics sector. The company plans to continuously improve performance by hiring experienced experts in the robotics field. Furthermore, it will select 00 conversion-type interns in robotics who will be responsible for tasks ranging from robot planning to R&D and prototype production to verify customer responses.


This large-scale recruitment by Hyundai Motor is interpreted as a foundation for advancing from a traditional complete vehicle manufacturer to a future mobility company. Since Hyundai Motor is investing with utmost determination to gain leadership in the future mobility industry, securing talent is an urgent priority.


In December last year, at the ‘CEO Investor Day,’ Hyundai Motor announced it would invest 23.5 trillion KRW by 2025 to secure future business capabilities. The specific investment amounts by sector are 10.8 trillion KRW for electrification, 4.1 trillion KRW for hydrogen business, 1.6 trillion KRW for autonomous driving, 1.2 trillion KRW for mobility services and platforms, 1 trillion KRW for connectivity, and 4.8 trillion KRW for urban air mobility (UAM), robotics, and artificial intelligence (AI). Hyundai Motor is not only investing in R&D and domestic and overseas facility investments to secure core future mobility technologies as planned but is also fostering the future mobility industry ecosystem. A Hyundai Motor official said, "This large-scale new recruitment is aimed at strengthening leadership in the future mobility industry by securing key talents who will lead Hyundai Motor’s new chapter in the future," adding, "We will continue to actively pursue securing excellent talent in the R&D sector."
