[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] LG Electronics announced on the 12th that it has expanded the regions and product categories eligible for its 'Two-Person Dedicated Service,' where two engineers work as a team to provide repair services for electronic products.
LG Electronics introduced this service for the first time in December last year and has expanded the service area nationwide this year, significantly increasing the number of eligible products. Currently, about 140 dedicated teams operate nationwide.
Previously, LG Electronics provided the two-person dedicated service for TVs 65 inches and larger, dryers and washing machines installed vertically, and outdoor air conditioner units installed on exterior walls. This year, the eligible products have been expanded to include TVs 60 inches and larger, large-capacity stylers, WashTower, massage chairs, and 4-door refrigerators. Repairs that take more than an hour, such as replacing compressors installed in refrigerators and air conditioners, are also covered by the two-person dedicated service.
Additionally, customers can receive supplementary services for other products besides those receiving the two-person dedicated service. Engineers use the customer management system, OneView, to check the products customers are using and inspect the necessary services. While one engineer repairs the product reported by the customer, the other inspects other products inside the home. Supplementary services include TV cable connection and organization, washing machine leveling and filter cleaning, air conditioner filter cleaning, and test operation.
LG Electronics explained that the two-person dedicated service has been useful in cases where it is difficult for a single engineer to access the space where the product is installed or when the product is large and heavy to move, reducing the time required to complete repairs or services by about 20% compared to before.
Yoo Gyumoon, Executive Vice President and Head of LG Electronics CS Management Center, said, "As product sizes increase and sales of premium home appliances grow, we have expanded the service areas and eligible products to provide the two-person dedicated service to more customers," adding, "We will continue to strive to provide services that quickly respond to customer expectations and market changes."
