[Asia Economy Reporter Sumi Hwang] On the 9th, a plea from a 20-year-old youth, Mr. A, titled "I am spending painful days with an anxious future," was posted on the Blue House National Petition Board.

Mr. A said, "Everyone thinks that if they live diligently today, they can have a comfortable home and a happy family, but now with the skyrocketing housing prices, that has become a dream."

He revealed that he had firm faith in the Moon Jae-in administration, which came to power proclaiming itself as the Candlelight Government, saying, "From the early days of the administration, they confidently promised to stabilize real estate, vowed to cut off long-standing evils, and promised comprehensive reforms."

Mr. A pointed out, "However, the people's trust was shattered in no time," and "Real estate prices, as if mocking the government and the president's words, drew an inverse curve and rose endlessly."

He especially regretted having postponed buying his own home trusting the government's promise of 'housing price stabilization,' calling it the beginning of his misfortune, and said, "I deeply regret the significant impact it had on my parents' retirement."

He added, "The Moon Jae-in administration, which promised to resolve polarization, has deepened polarization through real estate," and "I felt tremendous relative deprivation due to the excessively high housing prices." He also said, "I wonder whether we are living as citizens of the Republic of Korea or just living to buy a house," and asked the president, government, and ruling party, "In this bleak reality of Korea, can Korean youth really dream of the future?"

Mr. A continued his outcry by listing the situations faced by the 2030 generation. He asked the Moon Jae-in government and the ruling party, "Do not criticize the 2030s who are engrossed in stock investment, the 2030s investing in Bitcoin, the 2030s delaying marriage and living alone, and the 2030s living without having children."

This is a struggle to escape an uncertain future, and with housing prices soaring to the sky, marriage has become a 'dream,' and in a situation where they are not confident in bearing Korea's private education expenses, it is an unavoidable decision.

He urged, "To overcome the various problems caused by Korea's real estate, the Moon Jae-in government and the ruling party must show sincerity through proper legislation," and called for the government to abolish the 'tax benefits for housing rental business operators' and promptly legislate the 'Conflict of Interest Prevention Act.'

He repeatedly appealed, "Do not see the people of Korea as ignorant," and "Please create a world where fairness and justice sprout in Korea."

As of 8 p.m. on the 11th, about 4,600 people had agreed to the petition.
