'Opening All of Seoul: Humanities Program Contest Featuring the Theme "溫·ON·On"'
13 Institutions Selected Across 3 Categories... Up to 6 Million KRW Program Operation Support per Institution
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Metropolitan Lifelong Education Promotion Institute announced on the 12th that it is accepting applications from institutions and organizations to participate in this year's 'Private Sector-Linked Citizen University Operation Project' until the 23rd of this month.
The 'Private Sector-Linked Citizen University' is a project that has been operating since 2018 to discover excellent lifelong learning content that leverages the characteristics and expertise of various private educational institutions and humanities organizations.
This year, under the theme "Opening All of Seoul: 溫·ON·On," it is calling for humanities programs to comfort Seoul citizens exhausted by the COVID-19 era and to overcome climate and environmental issues.
To accommodate the characteristics and circumstances of each institution and organization, support is divided into three types: 'General Type,' 'Administrative Support Type,' and 'Multi-year Type.' A total of 13 institutions and organizations will be selected and provided with up to 6 million KRW in program operation expenses.
The operating conditions require programs aligned with this year's theme to be composed of five lecture sessions with at least 15 participants. Especially, due to social distancing policies caused by the spread of COVID-19, programs can be conducted either face-to-face or online, and when operating face-to-face programs, quarantine guidelines such as temperature checks and social distancing must be followed.
The main office must be located in Seoul, and nonprofit organizations, institutions, corporations, or cooperatives focused on educational activities and projects are eligible to participate in this call. Institutions and organizations wishing to participate can apply by postal mail within the application period.
Kim Joo-myung, director of the Seoul Metropolitan Lifelong Education Promotion Institute, said, "We hope that many specialized institutions and organizations will participate in this call to develop and operate humanities programs that allow Seoul citizens to reflect on humanities topics, thereby expanding the learning space of the Citizen University and enabling the Seoul Free Citizen University and private institutions and organizations to grow together."
