Secured a Total of 58 Million Won in Special Adjustment Grants
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) announced on the 9th that it received the Excellence Award in the 2020 Local Tax Collection Rate Improvement Evaluation hosted by Jeollanam-do and was selected as a city/county for the Encouragement Award for Reducing Carried-over Delinquent Taxes.
The county achieved a local tax collection rate of 97.4%, receiving a 30 million KRW incentive for the Excellence Award in improving the local tax collection rate, and exceeded the collection target for carried-over delinquent taxes by 64%, receiving a 28 million KRW incentive for the Encouragement Award for Reducing Carried-over Delinquent Taxes, securing a total of 58 million KRW in special adjustment grants.
Governor Kim San said, “I would like to express my gratitude to the taxpayers who cooperated with tax administration despite the difficult situation caused by COVID-19,” and added, “We will actively strive to facilitate taxpayers by offering installment payments and deferral measures for delinquent taxpayers facing difficulties due to COVID-19.”
Meanwhile, Muan-gun operates a delinquent tax collection task force that enforces strong delinquent tax measures for chronic habitual delinquents, including vehicle license plate confiscation, restriction of licensed businesses, auction of seized properties, and seizure of financial assets, to ensure fair tax administration.
