[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Kyung-pil] Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 8th that it conducted a simulation training for Pfizer vaccine administration targeting seniors aged 75 and older at the vaccination center installed in the Farmers and Fishermen Culture and Sports Center on the 7th.

The county plans to start administering the Pfizer vaccine sequentially from the vaccination target group of seniors aged 75 and older in the Chedo area starting from the 15th.

About 60 people participated in the training, including public officials, Wando Police Station, Wando Fire Station, and the 2nd Battalion of the 93rd Regiment, 31st Infantry Division. The simulation covered everything from vaccine storage and preparation to target verification, medical questionnaires, preliminary examination, vaccination, observation of adverse reactions, and emergency response.

Vaccine administration will be carried out in a dispersed manner by day and time slot, with vaccination and resident transportation plans established for each town, township, and village as soon as the supply volume is notified by Jeollanam-do.

Vaccination targets aged 75 and older must bring their resident registration card and visit the Farmers and Fishermen Culture and Sports Center on the designated date.

Considering that the vaccination targets are seniors aged 75 and older, the county will deploy charter buses for 15 days from the start date of vaccination to facilitate resident mobility and improve accessibility to the vaccination center.

A county official stated, “Simulation training was conducted to minimize errors in vaccine administration through realistic training ahead of the opening of the vaccination center on the 15th.”

Governor Shin Woo-cheol visited the vaccination center to inspect the preparation status of indoor and outdoor facilities and repeatedly urged, “Please operate the vaccination center thoroughly so that residents can receive the vaccine with peace of mind.”

He also said, “To expedite the end of COVID-19, it is important to secure herd immunity, so we ask residents to participate in vaccination.”
