Bflysoft, South Korea's leading media big data and AI company, announced the launch of its upgraded AI document summarizer, ‘WIGO Recap,’ which has been enhanced using 800,000 pieces of training data.
The newly introduced ‘WIGO Recap’ is an AI-based document summarizer developed in conjunction with Bflysoft’s successful completion of a document summarization training data project last year.
‘WIGO Recap’ offers two main types of document summarization. The first is extractive summarization, which selects three key sentences that best represent the original text. The second is abstractive summarization, which analyzes the entire document to generate new sentences. The solution incorporates the TEXTRank algorithm, which calculates sentence relationships and rankings within the document, and the BertSumAbs algorithm, which is based on the deep learning language model BERT (Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers).
The most notable feature of WIGO Recap, developed in collaboration with Bflysoft and the DSBA (Data Science & Business Analytics Lab) led by Professor Kang Pilseong of Korea University, is its enhanced accuracy and reliability, achieved by utilizing 400,000 verified original documents and 800,000 summary texts as training data. The high-quality document summarization data, which was recognized as an exemplary case in last year’s AI training data project, has been applied to AI learning, further improving performance.
A Bflysoft representative stated, “The new WIGO Recap is attracting significant interest from companies and institutions that provide text-based information to clients, such as news agencies. As competition in the media environment intensifies, document summarization technology is becoming increasingly important. We anticipate that document summarization will be used even more widely in the future for news, various media content, books, academic papers, and other types of documents. We expect WIGO Recap to play a key role in this trend.”
CEO Lim Kyunghwan commented, “The newly launched WIGO Recap is one of the most important achievements resulting from Bflysoft’s ongoing efforts to advance AI technology. Moving forward, we will continue to refine and platformize AI technologies related to natural language processing, especially those involving media big data, to provide optimized services to a broader range of customers.”
Meanwhile, Bflysoft is the official news copyright distributor for the Korea Press Foundation and is committed to creating new value through media big data information and AI technology. The company offers a variety of BDaaS-related services, such as the WIGOMON monitoring and analysis platform, which integrates media big data and AI. In addition, Bflysoft is participating in the ‘Roseus’ project, which involves building a news content distribution platform that combines AI and blockchain technologies, based on the hundreds of billions of big data records accumulated over the past 15 years, in collaboration with the Roseus Media Alliance Group.
