Jinju City Holds Meeting to Establish 'Cultural City Jinju Supporters' Supporters Creation Meeting for the Cultural City Jinju

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju City in Gyeongnam announced on the 6th that it held a meeting with the 2nd Cultural City Jinju Supporters and for the creation of a cultural city at the City Hall Entrepreneurs' Room.


The meeting was attended by the supporters recruited for the selection of the cultural city and officials from the City Cultural City Support Center.


At the meeting, Jinju Mayor Jo Gyu-il said, "Jinju is a city of culture and arts rich in various cultural assets historically, and all citizens take great pride in it," adding, "I hope that through the passion of each attendee today, hidden cultural assets throughout our region will be discovered and become a great driving force on the journey toward becoming a cultural city."


The supporters who attended the meeting plan to carry out online and offline promotional activities for various activities of cultural and artistic groups and lifestyle culture clubs active in the region, as well as various cultural mediation activities promoted by the City Cultural City Support Center.


After the activities of the 1st Cultural City Supporters ended last year, 20 members of the 2nd Cultural City Supporters were selected through an open recruitment held from February 1 to 16 this year.


They are composed of various groups including local university students, cultural activists, and individual bloggers.


Meanwhile, the City Cultural City Center announced that it plans to systematically establish governance for public-private collaboration for this year's cultural city creation project and to carry out projects throughout the year such as an online cultural city forum, opening of training courses for local cultural professionals, and strengthening support for lifestyle cultural activities to incorporate diverse citizen ideas.
