SH Corporation Launches Seoul-Moscow Housing and Urban Forum... "Bridge Between Two Countries"

[Asia Economy Reporter Onyu Lim] Seoul Housing and Communities Corporation (SH Corporation) will serve as a bridge connecting housing and urban-related knowledge and know-how between Korea and Russia.

SH Corporation announced on the 6th that it will launch the "Seoul-Moscow Housing and Urban Forum" to share urban development experiences and knowledge between Seoul and Moscow and to expand cooperative relations.

To this end, the forum inauguration ceremony was held the day before, where it was pledged to share experiences and knowledge of Korean and Russian experts on housing construction, urban planning, redevelopment, urban regeneration, smart cities, and to work towards expanding cooperation between the two countries.

Former Ambassador to Russia Woo Yoon-geun was elected as the forum chairman, with Park Jin-young, head of SH Corporation's overseas business division, and Dmitry Letnov, lawyer at the law firm Kwangjang, serving as operating committee members. Pavel Reshakov, counselor at the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Korea, and Ekaterina Maleeva, business director at the Strelka Institute, also participate as forum members.

Since 2017, Russia has been conducting a redevelopment project of the deteriorated low-rise prefabricated housing Khrushchyovka in Moscow, aiming to develop smart cities in new towns behind the Arctic route and several cities in the Far East region. Russian and Moscow-related institutions have continuously shown interest in Seoul City and SH Corporation's abundant urban development project experience and the construction experience of the Magok smart city.

The inauguration ceremony was held with a minimal number of participants due to COVID-19 and the video will be posted on SH Corporation's YouTube channel "Cheongsinho TV."

Kim Se-yong, president of SH Corporation, said, "I hope this forum becomes a knowledge platform symbolizing cooperation and friendship between Korea and Russia, Seoul and Moscow."
