Sejong Telecom Snowman Partners with LG Uplus MVNO Network

[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] Sejong Telecom's budget phone brand Snowman announced on the 5th that it has signed a network wholesale provision contract with LG Uplus and launched 10 types of prepaid fixed-rate plans. Following KT, it has now also signed a contract with LG Uplus.


Snowman subscribers can receive the same services as mobile carriers by visiting the nearest LG Uplus direct store for name or contract changes, service suspension, loss reporting, personal information inquiry, and bill payment.


The models introduced in April are prepaid fixed-rate plans available at nationwide agencies. Prepaid fixed-rate plans are communication products where fees are paid in advance with no contract. They are automatically recharged once a month without the need for repeated top-ups and can be used according to data usage. The usage period is 30 days from the recharge date.


The newly launched plans apply speed control (QoS) even after the basic data allowance is exhausted, allowing unlimited use without additional charges. The ‘Sejong Telecom Prepaid Fixed 300MB’ plan costs 36,300 KRW per month, providing unlimited calls (including 50 minutes of additional calls), unlimited texts, and 300MB of data per month, with speeds reduced to 3Mbps after data is used up.


Additionally, a prepaid product offering 20 minutes of international calls daily has been added. The ‘Sejong Telecom Prepaid Fixed 300MB+ (International)’ plan costs 40,700 KRW per month, allowing unlimited calls (including 50 minutes of additional calls) and texts, with 300MB of data per month. This plan also provides 20 minutes of international call service daily.


Baek Min-hyeop, director of Sejong Telecom, said, “Snowman will continue to enhance customer benefits by launching plans that provide ‘speed control (QoS) based on data capacity’ and promotions offering discounted devices. With the renewal and reopening of the Snowman Direct Mall, we will also focus on improving customer convenience by enabling service subscription and usage inquiries on both PC and mobile environments.”
