[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Changwoo Lee) is recruiting new companies to move into the Youth Startup Support Center and the Small and Medium Enterprise Startup Support Center until the 19th.
The district operates the Youth Startup Support Center (44-1, Sangdo-ro 47-gil, Sangdo-dong) and the Small and Medium Enterprise Startup Support Center (35, Sangdo-ro, Daebang-dong) to nurture (preliminary) entrepreneurs with innovative ideas and technical skills.
The recruitment targets are 4 seats of 2.4㎡ co-working space within the Youth Startup Support Center, 3 open-type single offices of 11.25㎡, and 1 private office of 16.64㎡ within the Small and Medium Enterprise Startup Support Center.
Eligibility for application is preliminary entrepreneurs under the age of 39 for the co-working space, and early-stage startups within 3 years of establishment for the office spaces.
Eligible industries include IT, technical services, computer operation-related businesses, manufacturing, etc. Applications are restricted for those currently closed, those with national or local tax arrears, or businesses emitting environmental pollution.
Individuals or companies wishing to move in can submit the application form and business plan by visiting the Economic Promotion Division (74, Noryangjin-ro, 9th floor of Yuhan Yanghaeng) or by emailing the person in charge at blueyim2@dongjak.go.kr.
The district will form a Small and Medium Enterprise Startup Support Review Committee composed of company representatives in related fields, affiliated organizations, and professors in May, and comprehensively review based on criteria such as ▲ originality of startup items and technology development ▲ appropriateness and feasibility of business plans ▲ growth potential ▲ willingness to participate in startup incubation programs, and post the results on the district website.
Selected companies can use the facilities for one year by paying an annual fee of 360,000 KRW (paid in a lump sum upon move-in) for the co-working space, and can move into the Small and Medium Enterprise Startup Support Center’s single offices for 2 years at an annual rent of 410,000 KRW, or private offices at around 600,000 KRW per year.

Jungwon Kim, head of the Economic Promotion Division, said, “Through this project, we will actively nurture startup companies with innovative ideas and technical skills to revitalize the local economy, which has been stagnant due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic,” and added, “We hope many young people and prospective entrepreneurs dreaming of starting a business will show interest and participate.”
