Kim Jong-in Targets Ruling Party: "Sexual Violence Successor Should Not Be Made Mayor"

[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] Kim Jong-in, the Emergency Committee Chairman of the People Power Party, stated on the 4th, "I am confident that the successor involved in sexual violence will never become mayor."

On the afternoon of the same day, at a joint campaign rally for candidate Park Hyung-jun held in front of LG Metro City Apartments in Nam-gu, Busan, Chairman Kim labeled Kim Young-choon, the Democratic Party candidate, as a "successor involved in sexual violence" and appealed for support for candidate Park Hyung-jun.

He reminded, "The April 7 by-election is an election caused by the sexual violence incident involving former Mayor Oh Keo-don." He emphasized, "This election is not just a simple by-election for the Busan mayoral position," and added, "It is an election to clearly judge the failures of the Moon Jae-in administration over the past four years."

Strongly criticizing the four years of the Moon Jae-in administration, he also said, "If Park Hyung-jun becomes mayor in Busan and Oh Se-hoon becomes mayor in Seoul, this government will awaken."

Chairman Kim claimed, "It is unclear what the Moon Jae-in administration has actually done," and stated, "Polarization has widened significantly over the past four years, and national conflicts have deepened?these are the results of the Moon Jae-in administration."

He said, "The government has no plans for the future, so how can the people design their future?" and added, "We must definitely judge the Moon Jae-in administration in this by-election."

He emphasized, "That judgment is to elect candidate Park Hyung-jun as mayor, and that will send the first signal of judging the Moon Jae-in administration from Busan."

He continued, "Looking at the early voting, I am confident that candidate Park Hyung-jun will win by a large margin," and urged, "Don't just think that Park Hyung-jun is ahead; everyone should vote so that Park Hyung-jun can be elected as Busan mayor by an even larger margin, and please give your best support."
