Cumulative Vaccinations Reach 953,556... 2 Death Reports, Causality Unconfirmed
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] There have been 147 new suspected adverse reaction cases reported following COVID-19 vaccinations. The number of newly vaccinated individuals was recorded at 38,058.
According to the Central Disease Control Headquarters (CDCH) as of midnight on the 3rd, 147 new cases of suspected adverse reactions after vaccination were reported. Among these, the number of deaths increased by 2, bringing the cumulative total to 32. The causal relationship between vaccination and death has not been confirmed.
The first death case following Pfizer vaccination was also reported. The deceased, a 76-year-old male from Nowon-gu, Seoul, who received the Pfizer vaccine, was confirmed to have been suffering from renal failure for six years.
As of this day, the total number of reported suspected cases reached 10,968, with 10,495 related to the AstraZeneca vaccine and 473 related to the Pfizer vaccine. The number of AstraZeneca vaccine recipients was 853,579, and Pfizer vaccine recipients numbered 126,357.
Additionally, 38,058 people were vaccinated in a single day. Since February 26, the cumulative number of vaccinated individuals has increased to 953,556, which is about 1.83% of the total population.
Among the cumulative first-dose recipients, 853,579 received the AstraZeneca vaccine, and 99,977 received the Pfizer vaccine. An additional 6,177 people received their second Pfizer dose yesterday, bringing the total number of second-dose recipients to 26,380.
Currently, the government is conducting vaccinations using initial supplies of AstraZeneca and Pfizer vaccines. Since the 1st of this month, Pfizer vaccinations have been administered to elderly individuals aged 75 and older.
