[Asia Economy Reporter Kwangho Lee] Korea Asset Management Corporation (KAMCO) announced on the 31st that it held the opening ceremony of the 27th KAMCO Brary at Pungsanjeongja Regional Children's Center located in Pungsan-eup, Andong City.

At the opening ceremony, KAMCO President Seongyu Moon, Andong Mayor Youngse Kwon, and Chairman Simoon Ryu of the Korean Red Cross Gyeongbuk Branch attended to celebrate the opening.

KAMCO opened the 27th "KAMCO Brary" in Andong City, following the establishment of the first branch in Busan, where its headquarters are located, in 2015, and then in Seoul, Daegu, Daejeon, Changwon, Jeju, and others.

The 27th KAMCO Brary was selected through an open recruitment process for regional children's centers in need of reading environment development, in collaboration between KAMCO's Daegu-Gyeongbuk Regional Headquarters and the Korean Red Cross Gyeongbuk Branch.

For the opening of the 27th branch, KAMCO donated about 500 children's books and replaced the floor with reinforced flooring, replaced desks, chairs, and bookshelves with eco-friendly wooden furniture, and installed air conditioners and other facilities and supplies for the health and convenience of the children.

Going forward, KAMCO plans to systematically support the purchase of about 2,000 books over five years, reading guidance, and cultural experience activities, as well as various social contribution activities such as job experience for children and youth using the KAMCO Brary and talent donation by KAMCO employees.

President Moon said, "I hope that children and youth, who will be the future leaders, can encounter various ideas and grow while dreaming bigger dreams at the KAMCO Brary," and added, "KAMCO will continue to create the KAMCO Brary as a space that embodies respect and inclusion for people together with the local community."
