Namu Technology Holds Groundbreaking Ceremony for Magok M-Valley R&D Center

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Cloud leading company Namu Technology announced on the 31st that it held a groundbreaking ceremony for the ‘Namu Technology M-Valley R&D Center’ at Magok Industrial Complex, Gangseo-gu, Seoul.

Attendees at the event included Namu Technology CEO Jeong Cheol, construction company Shinsegae ToGeon CEO Kim Seongju, PM company H Partners CEO Hong Youngbae, and supervision and design firm SAI Associates Architects CEO Park Jongho.

The Namu Technology R&D Center, which will incorporate zero-energy technology, is scheduled for completion in September 2022. It will be built with approximately 6,000㎡ of total floor area, consisting of 7 above-ground floors and 3 basement levels. Including companies that will move into the Open Innovation Center, it will accommodate over 300 personnel.

The company plans to newly recruit about 30 people, including 20 specialized researchers, by 2023 in line with the establishment of the R&D center. Additionally, including subsidiaries and affiliates that will move into the Open Innovation Center, more than 50 new hires are expected.

This R&D center investment aligns with Namu Technology’s global strategy as a leader in the cloud market. Through proactive investment, Namu Technology has become the first in Korea to commercialize a container platform and is advancing as the number one cloud platform company.

They expect to secure future competitiveness through the development and convergence of high value-added solutions such as cloud, virtualization, artificial intelligence, and big data, as well as joint research. They also plan to create synergy through active exchanges with information and communication, pharmaceutical, and bio companies located within the Magok Industrial Complex.

The company anticipates that the Namu Technology M-Valley R&D Center, located within the Northeast Asia daily living zone to enhance accessibility, will serve as a cornerstone for Namu Technology’s leap to a global strong small and medium enterprise.

Jeong Cheol, CEO of Namu Technology, stated, “The Namu Technology M-Valley R&D Center will be the center of growth for global cloud market dominance,” adding, “We will maximize synergy by strengthening communication and collaboration among R&D sectors such as virtualization, cloud, artificial intelligence, and big data.”
