Ministry of Science and ICT: "ICT Companies Less Than 7 Years Old, Apply for Mentoring"

Mentoring Program Operation Project
Recruiting 175 Companies Until April 20

[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 30th that it is recruiting dedicated mentee companies and CEO dedicated mentors for the mid-2021 term of the 'Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Innovation Company Mentoring Program Operation Project.'


The ICT Innovation Company Mentoring Program Operation is a support program that diagnoses and proposes solutions to technical and managerial difficulties faced by ICT startup companies through mentoring by dedicated mentors with ICT startup experience, such as senior venture entrepreneurs. It has been promoted as a continuous project since 2013.


The Ministry of Science and ICT secured an additional budget of 1.62 billion KRW for the ICT Innovation Company Mentoring Program Operation Project through the first supplementary budget of 2021 to support the growth of ICT startup companies and job creation.


The recruitment period is 21 days from the 31st of this month to the 20th of next month. After evaluation, a total of 175 companies will be selected in April. The eligibility for mentee company applications is early-stage startups within 3 years of establishment or growth-stage companies within 7 years of establishment in the ICT and 4th Industrial Revolution technology fields.


A total of 30 CEO dedicated mentors will be recruited to handle mentoring. Those eligible to apply include venture CEOs, large company CTOs, and highly experienced personnel from research institutes with over 10 years of experience in technology research and development (R&D) and commercialization in the ICT and 4th Industrial Revolution technology fields.


Selected mentees will receive free tailored programs necessary for their growth stage, including dedicated mentoring from the CEO dedicated mentor group, ICT legal and specialized technical mentoring, practical startup education, and investment attraction support. CEO dedicated mentors will assist the growth of mentee companies after completing customized training required for mentoring.
