Multinational Students Gather to Boost Global Competence... Dongseo University Selected as Operating Institution for '2021 International Youth Leader Exchange Support Project' Dongseo University’s International Youth Leader Exchange Support Project Camp held in 2019.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Dongseo University (President Jang Je-guk) has been finally selected as the operating institution for the ‘2021 International Youth Leader Exchange Support Project’ organized by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family and the Korea Youth Activity Promotion Agency.

Dongseo University was also selected as the operating institution for this project in 2019 and received a ministerial award in recognition of its outstanding achievements.

The International Youth Leader Exchange Support Project is a program designed to promote friendship between countries by supporting exchange activities among multinational university students to strengthen global competencies and enhance the understanding of Korean culture, history, and industry among international students residing in Korea.

Dongseo University will carry out this project under the theme ‘Busan, the Hub of Asia, Designing Busan.’ A total of 60 students, including 30 Korean and 30 international students enrolled at Dongseo University, will participate.

Starting with participant recruitment in May this year, full-scale exchange activities will be conducted until July. Due to changes in the external environment caused by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, these activities are expected to be conducted either non-face-to-face or in small groups.

Han Kyung-ho, Director of the International Office at Dongseo University, said, “Through various programs such as cultural experiences and visits to local industrial sites, we aim to strengthen exchanges and teamwork among multinational students and contribute to raising the importance of Busan’s regional industries and the national brand image.” He added, “Based on the experience of receiving the excellent program ministerial award in 2019, we will ensure the successful operation of the 2021 International Youth Leader Exchange Support Project.”
