Tour the DMZ through Online Games and Make Donations

Tour the DMZ through Online Games and Make Donations The game "Unnamed Land," which allows online tourism of the DMZ.

[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization announced that they will conduct a campaign on Naver Happy Bean Good Action for one month starting from the 29th to promote ‘DMZ Peace Tourism.’

This campaign is aimed at the MZ generation, who are active in value consumption and expressing their beliefs, to raise awareness of ‘DMZ Peace Tourism.’ The DMZ is a unique Korean tourism resource, being the site of the tragic history of the only divided region in the world on the Korean Peninsula, and has preserved pristine ecological resources for 70 years due to the absence of human footprints.

The MZ generation, familiar with digital environments, can access the online game ‘Ireum Eomneun Ttang’ (Land Without a Name) on Naver Happy Bean Good Action to virtually travel to the DMZ, which is otherwise difficult to visit. They can also participate in fundraising to support the natural ecosystem of the border area by leaving messages wishing for peace in the DMZ.

The peace messages left on Happy Bean Good Action can also be viewed at the ‘DMZ Portal’ to be established at the Gorangpogu History Park in Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi Province, and the Unification Observatory in Goseong-gun, Gangwon Province. The ‘DMZ Portal’ is scheduled to open on April 19, and even after the campaign ends, visitors will be able to experience and enjoy the online game ‘Ireum Eomneun Ttang.’
