Hyundai's New MPV Staria Records 11,003 Pre-Orders on First Day

[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Hyundai Motor Company's new multipurpose vehicle (MPV), Staria, surpassed 10,000 pre-orders on the first day.


Hyundai Motor announced on the 27th that the number of pre-orders for Staria, which began nationwide on the 26th, reached 11,003 on the first day. This figure exceeds the pre-order records of representative compact sedans and sport utility vehicles (SUVs) such as the Avante (10,058 units) and Tucson (10,842 units).


A Hyundai Motor official stated, "We believe that Staria received a positive response from customers because it proactively presented the experience of future mobility through innovation," adding, "In particular, the Staria Lounge is a premium model that maximizes driving feel and convenience and safety features, and we expect it to provide customers with a diverse vehicle life experience."


Staria is characterized by Hyundai Motor's future mobility design theme, Inside Out. Inside Out is a concept that extends the spaciousness and openness of interior design to the exterior, and Staria features a sleek curved exterior reminiscent of a spaceship, along with a spacious interior and sense of openness.


Additionally, Hyundai Motor applied intelligent safety technologies as standard across all models for the first time. Key features include ▲Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist ▲Lane Departure Prevention Assist ▲Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist ▲Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist ▲Lane Keeping Assist ▲Smart Cruise Control.


The selling prices of Staria, based on diesel and automatic transmission, start at ▲Cargo 3-seater 27.26 million KRW ▲Cargo 5-seater 27.95 million KRW ▲Tourer 9-seater 30.84 million KRW (single trim) ▲Tourer 11-seater 29.32 million KRW ▲Lounge 7-seater 41.35 million KRW (single trim) ▲Lounge 9-seater 36.61 million KRW.


Meanwhile, Hyundai Motor is conducting an advertising campaign themed "Premium Space for Next Mobility" in line with the Staria pre-orders. The video, which compares Staria to a spaceship to convey futuristic design elements and presents a premium space experience beyond simple transportation, is available on Hyundai Motor's official website and YouTube channel.
