[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] Camsys announced on the 16th that it will launch the follow-up model ‘CEVO-C SE,’ equipped with a domestically produced battery, following the ‘CEVO-C,’ which achieved the number one market share in the micro electric vehicle sector early last year.

According to Camsys, the CEVO-C SE model is equipped with a 10.16kWh battery from Samsung SDI, increasing the driving range by approximately 13% compared to the previous vehicle (based on the Ministry of Environment’s standard for ambient temperature/urban driving). The full charge time is about 4 hours, with a top speed of 80 km/h and a maximum driving range of 75.4 km on a full charge. Charging supports an AC single-phase 5-pin standard slow charger, allowing for general 220V charging, and a portable charger compatible with various vehicle types can be purchased separately.

The interior design changed the accent color from mint, used in the previous interior, to brown, emphasizing a luxurious and cozy image. In particular, Camsys plans to offer a service on the CEVO website where customers can view the new interior in 360-degree virtual reality (VR), as if they were actually inside the vehicle.

The new model, available in four colors?Fashion Red, Lime Green, Aqua Blue, and Midnight Blue?can be seen at four CEVO direct stores nationwide (Seoul·Gyeonggi, Jeonnam·Yeonggwang, Daegu·Gyeongbuk, Jeju). The selling price is 15.7 million KRW, and with government and local subsidies, general consumers can purchase it for between 6 to 9 million KRW.

Park Youngtae, CEO of Camsys, said, “The CEVO-C SE is significant in that it enhances reliability by applying a domestically produced battery, which is the most important component in electric vehicles,” adding, “Starting with pre-orders in early April and the launch of this new model, we will do our best to maintain the number one position in domestic micro electric vehicle sales this year as well.”

Meanwhile, Camsys micro electric vehicles can receive after-sales service through 58 maintenance centers nationwide and on-site maintenance services. Camsys also added that it plans to expand its nationwide AS network to 85 locations by the end of the year.
