Bitcoin Fluctuates Around 70 Million Won Mark Repeatedly

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] Cryptocurrency Bitcoin surpassed the 71 million KRW mark on the 14th, setting a new all-time high.

According to the cryptocurrency exchange Upbit, as of 8:50 PM on the same day, 1 Bitcoin was priced at 69.58 million KRW.

On Upbit, Bitcoin broke through 70 million KRW at 5:24 AM and exceeded 71 million KRW at 8:45 AM. It briefly rose to 71.45 million KRW before giving back some of the gains.

With liquidity driving active investment in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, the daily trading volume on the four major domestic exchanges surged.

According to the cryptocurrency information site CoinMarketCap, as of 8 PM on the same day, the 24-hour trading volume of the four major domestic exchanges totaled 11.694 trillion KRW. This exceeds the KOSDAQ market trading volume of 11.3713 trillion KRW on the 12th. However, unlike the domestic stock market, cryptocurrency exchanges operate 24 hours a day.
