Singer JK Kim Dong Wook
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim So-young] Singer JK Kim Dong-wook (46) indirectly criticized some employees of Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) involved in real estate speculation by comparing real estate to 'Matdongsan' (a popular Korean snack).
On the 6th, JK Kim Dong-wook posted on his Instagram, "Real estate was 'Matdongsan' to you guys. Why didn't you share some Matdongsan with the people?" he criticized.
Along with this, he posted a photo of the LH company logo and hashtags '#MatdongsanParty' and '#LandGrabMasters', pointing out the recent speculation allegations involving LH executives and employees.
This is not the first time JK Kim Dong-wook has publicly criticized through social networking services (SNS).
In the past, JK Kim Dong-wook criticized former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk, the ruling party, and former Minister Choo Mi-ae on Twitter. In September 2019, amid controversies surrounding former Minister Cho Kuk, JK Kim Dong-wook wrote, "Cho Kuk, now apologize. Let's stop this," and in March last year, when the mask shortage worsened due to the spread of COVID-19, he strongly criticized, "A country exists because of its people. Our people are lining up without masks, yet masks were exported to China? Where is such a damn case?"
Also, in September last year, regarding the special treatment allegations of former Minister Choo Mi-ae's son during military service, he left a post saying, "Choohada Choohae" (a wordplay on the minister's name).
Meanwhile, in January, JK Kim Dong-wook stepped down from hosting UBC Ulsan Broadcasting's 'Open Art Stage Duran' (Duran), a program he had been leading since 2011.
On January 26, JK Kim Dong-wook announced his departure on Instagram, saying, "Regardless of the outcome, I cannot fully accept it." Neither JK Kim Dong-wook nor the broadcasting company revealed specific reasons for his departure.
On the 2nd of last month, former Future United Party (now People Power Party) lawmaker Na Kyung-won mentioned this on her Facebook post titled, "We must definitely overcome the power that forced JK Kim Dong-wook to step down." She claimed that JK Kim Dong-wook was forced to leave due to supporters of the ruling party, saying, "Our society is being sickened by extreme pro-Moon Jae-in supporters."
