[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] On the 8th, the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education held a 'Love Flower' sharing event with the NH Nonghyup Bank Jeonnam Regional Headquarters to support local flower farms struggling due to COVID-19 in celebration of International Women's Day.

This event was organized by the Provincial Office of Education with sponsorship from the NH Nonghyup Bank Regional Headquarters to help flower farms facing difficulties due to reduced flower consumption caused by the cancellation of events such as graduation and entrance ceremonies amid the impact of COVID-19.

On the morning of the day, Superintendent Jang Seok-woong, along with executives from the Provincial Office of Education and NH Nonghyup Bank Jeonnam Regional Headquarters officials including Director Park Seo-hong, handed out 100 roses and rice cakes to about 220 female employees arriving at the first-floor entrance of the education office building.

The Provincial Office of Education plans to continue supporting flower farms throughout the year through initiatives such as 'One flowerpot per team in each department' and 'Presenting flower bouquets to birthday celebrants.'

Superintendent Jang Seok-woong said, "The rose bouquets distributed today carry the meaning of International Women's Day, which hopes for a world without discrimination, as well as the intention to help flower farmers facing difficulties," adding, "Let's keep our spirits up a little more until the day everyone can smile brightly."

Meanwhile, International Women's Day was established by the UN to commemorate the protest held on March 8, 1908, by American female textile workers advocating for suffrage and the formation of labor unions.
