[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] A hidden space behind the bathroom mirror was discovered in an apartment in New York, USA, sending chills down the spine.
According to the New York Post and others on the 5th, Samantha Hartsoe, who lives in an apartment in New York, posted a video titled "New York City Mystery" on TikTok on the 4th.
In the video, Hartsoe decided to remove the mirror to investigate the cause of a cold wind strong enough to blow hair around in a windowless bathroom.
She realized that the cold air was coming through the gap behind the mirror. When she removed the mirror, a rectangular hole was found in the wall. This hole was connected to an empty room.

After the initial shock of discovering the eerie room, she found a passage inside the empty room leading to another place. Hartsoe decided to enter with a hammer in hand.
Through a small hole, Hartsoe entered and discovered another apartment that appeared to have been inhabited at some point.
The floor of this cold apartment was scattered with construction materials, garbage bags, broken furniture, and water bottles.
The apartment had a duplex structure, and going down the stairs to the lower floor, there was also a door leading outside.
In the video, Hartsoe said, "Anyone entering through this door could come into my home," adding, "Tomorrow, the landlord will receive an interesting phone call."
Hartsoe is reportedly planning to demand that the landlord seal the hole and take other measures.
This space evoked chilling memories of the 1987 Chicago apartment murder case. Lucy May McCoy, a 52-year-old woman, was shot and killed by an intruder who entered through a small hole hidden behind the bathroom mirror. The McCoy murder case also inspired the 1992 film "Candyman."
