[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] Severance Hospital began administering COVID-19 vaccines to medical staff starting at 10 a.m. on the 8th.

On that day, Severance Hospital vaccinated about 500 people with the AstraZeneca vaccine at the Eunmyeong Auditorium on the 6th floor. Starting with Yoon Dong-seop, Director of Yonsei Medical Center, and Ha Jong-won, Director of Severance Hospital, the hospital plans to sequentially vaccinate 5,500 affiliated faculty and staff.

Vaccinations are conducted according to reserved times through the Severance Hospital mobile app ‘My Severance’. The vaccinations will take place over a total of two weeks, with the second dose scheduled for May. Most faculty and staff, excluding pregnant women and those planning pregnancy, Pfizer vaccine recipients, and those registered for vaccination at other hospitals, will receive the vaccine.

Director Yoon said, “It is important for hospital workers to proactively receive the vaccine to overcome COVID-19, ensuring the safety of both patients and medical staff,” adding, “We hope that vaccination will allow general patients to receive safe treatment and help overcome COVID-19.”

Meanwhile, Severance Hospital plans to begin vaccinating staff working in the confirmed severe patient wards once Pfizer vaccines are delivered.
