Applications Open Until the 19th on Seoul Scholarship Foundation Website for Graduates Expected in August This Year and February Next Year

[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The Seoul Scholarship Foundation is providing scholarships to low-income college students who are facing double hardships due to the employment freeze caused by COVID-19 and economic difficulties.

On the 8th, the Seoul Scholarship Foundation announced that it will select 258 college students and provide them with the 'Hope Plus Scholarship' worth 1.5 million KRW annually. Following the emergency budget allocation last year, it will support 420 million KRW this year as well.

Applicants must be recipients of basic living subsidies or legally designated lower-income groups, enrolled in universities located in Seoul, or domestic university students who are Seoul citizens or children of Seoul citizens, and must be expected to graduate in August 2021 or February 2022.

The scholarship application period is from 10:00 AM on March 8 to 5:00 PM on March 19. Applications can be submitted online through the Seoul Scholarship Foundation website, followed by mailing the required documents. The selection results are scheduled to be announced at the end of April.

Lee Daehyun, Acting Chairman of the Seoul Scholarship Foundation, stated, “Due to the economic downturn and employment difficulties caused by COVID-19, a stable academic environment for young people is more essential than ever,” adding, “We will ensure practical support for college students who are striving and not giving up on their dreams despite difficult circumstances.”
