[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] “Although vaccination has begun, masks must be worn until herd immunity is formed. The vaccine that still protects us is the mask.”

At 9 a.m. on the 6th, in the briefing room of Busan Gijang County Office, County Governor Oh Gyu-seok delivered a message to residents, saying, “Do not let your guard down until the last moment, and strictly follow quarantine rules such as social distancing, wearing masks, and banning private gatherings of five or more people.”

Gijang County held a ‘COVID-19 Response Daily Situation Report Meeting’ on the weekend Saturday as usual, chaired by the County Governor, with the attendance of the Director of Health Administration, Director of Safety General Affairs, and Director of Planning and Integrity.

On the 5th, Gijang County conducted on-site inspections and administrative guidance on compliance with quarantine rules targeting 135 key management facilities such as entertainment bars, karaoke rooms, restaurants, and cafes; 27 general management facilities including PC rooms, academies, and indoor sports facilities; 2 religious facilities; and 131 small stores.

At the Gijang County Public Health Center screening clinic, 728 people were tested on the 5th, with 719 testing negative and 9 still pending. So far, among approximately 830 first-dose vaccine recipients including workers and inpatients at nursing hospitals and facilities, 337 have completed vaccination.

The vaccination target group will gradually expand, and from the 9th, vaccinations will be administered to first responders for COVID-19.

Gijang County issued an administrative order banning camping cars and car camping along the coast starting from 6 p.m. on January 13. Until further notice, the ‘Gijang County Camping Car and Car Camping Response Team’ operates every day including weekdays, weekends, and holidays to focus on guidance and crackdowns on violations of the administrative order.

During the camping car and car camping inspection on the 5th, one advisory action was taken, bringing the cumulative number of advisories to 521. Inspections of camping cars and car camping along the Gijang County coast will continue on weekends as well.
