A Vietnamese Woman in Her 20s Who Underwent Plastic Surgery 9 Times After Hearing "You Can't Get a Job with That Face"

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] A Vietnamese man who underwent nine plastic surgeries to completely change his appearance after being told, "It is difficult to get a job with your face," has become a hot topic.

According to foreign media on the 5th, Do Quyen (26), who lives in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, revealed his before-and-after plastic surgery photos on the video platform TikTok.

The plastic surgeries he has had so far include his eyes, nose, teeth, and lips, totaling nine procedures, costing 400 million dong (about 19.7 million KRW). Do Quyen, who came from a financially struggling family, used his savings for the surgeries.

The reason he decided to undergo plastic surgery was after hearing from a job interviewer, "It is hard to find a job with your face."

Do Quyen said, "The day I came back after my first plastic surgery, my parents did not recognize me. I thought I had changed a lot, but when my parents reacted like that, I couldn't stop crying," adding, "I never regret the plastic surgery."

Currently working as a makeup artist, Do Quyen said, "You must explore your own beauty with strong willpower. The measure of my beauty is how confident and satisfied I feel when I look in the mirror."

He also added his view on plastic surgery, saying, "I know there are critical views about me having repeated plastic surgeries. But if it can make me happy, I believe you should try anything."
