[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Naver announced on the 5th that it will collaborate with the language data company 'Flitto' to advance artificial intelligence (AI) translation.
The two companies plan to cooperate to enhance translation quality, including improving the performance of neural network-based machine translation technology.
Flitto has built a large-scale translation database by collecting language data using its own translation platform. Based on this, it developed an AI translation engine and supplies language data and AI translation solutions to numerous domestic and international companies.
Naver's AI translation service 'Papago' has focused on advancing translation technology, and it is expected that mutual cooperation with Flitto will create synergy to strengthen global competitiveness.
Shin Junghwi, Naver Papago's lead manager, said, "We expect to further enhance machine translation quality by collaborating with Flitto, which possesses a large volume of language data and excellent technology for AI translation engines based on it."
Lee Jeongsu, CEO of Flitto, stated, "We will strive to develop AI translation technology by cooperating with Naver, which holds leading technology in language artificial intelligence."
