Classrooms, Club Rooms, Media Production Rooms, Startup Incubating Rooms, Shared Kitchens, etc. Established... Naming Contest Ahead of Reopening in May This Year, Grand Prize Includes Gift Certificate Worth 300,000 KRW
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Moon Seok-jin) announced on the 5th that the 'Seodaemun-gu Women’s Center,' located on the basement first floor of Seodaemun Cultural and Sports Center (39 Baekryeonsa-gil), will be newly transformed through remodeling of its aging space.
The district plans to create lecture rooms, club rooms, a one-person media production & editing room, a startup incubating room, a shared kitchen, a multipurpose hall, and a lounge in the 755㎡ center.
Additionally, a natural lighting system and an indoor air quality integrated management system will be introduced, and green gardens will be installed on the interior and exterior walls.
Furthermore, a barrier-free design will be applied, and the operation programs will diversify from mainly hobby classes to employment and startup-related content that fits the changing times.
The district will also hold a naming contest targeting residents, workers, students, and members of organizations in the area ahead of the center’s reopening scheduled for May.
Applicants can download the application form from the Seodaemun-gu website’s notice section (“Seodaemun-gu Women’s Center Naming Contest Guide”), fill it out, and submit it via email (sulsul11@sdm.go.kr) by the 12th of this month.
Each person can submit up to two entries, and to assist with naming, applicants can refer to the Women’s Center operation plan and briefing video attached in the website notice.
The district will select a friendly and distinctive name that fits the purpose and characteristics of the Women’s Center based on representativeness, creativity, and intimacy.
The grand prize winner will receive a traditional market gift certificate worth 300,000 KRW, two excellence award winners will each receive 150,000 KRW, and two encouragement award winners will each receive 50,000 KRW worth of traditional market gift certificates.
Mayor Moon Seok-jin said, “I hope the Seodaemun-gu Women’s Center will provide one-stop services for employment and startups suited to the digital age and operate as a hub space for the local women’s network.”
