Recruitment of Organizations for Gender Equality Fund Support Project on 9-10th, Total 40 Million KRW Contest... Up to 10 Million KRW Support for Gender Equality Culture Expansion and Women's Social Participation Projects, One Project Application per Organization
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) is calling for proposals for the “2021 Gender Equality Fund Support Project,” with a total budget of 40 million KRW, to discover various ideas for improving gender sensitivity.
The application fields include ▲ projects for protecting women's human rights and promoting their interests ▲ cultural and educational support projects for realizing gender equality ▲ projects for women's employment and social participation ▲ projects for proposing gender equality policies and creating women-friendly cities.
Eligible applicants are non-profit organizations and corporations located in Jungnang-gu that work to promote gender equality and protect women's human rights. Each organization can apply for one project and receive up to 10 million KRW in support. However, projects that receive support from other institutions or one-time projects are excluded.
Organizations wishing to participate should prepare the required documents, including a project plan, and submit them in person to the Women and Family Division of Jungnang-gu Office or via email (hhk0746@jn.go.kr) during the two-day period from the 9th to the 10th.
Detailed information can be found on the Jungnang-gu Office website.
The district will finalize the supported projects and funding amounts in March after review by the Jungnang-gu Gender Equality Fund Operation Committee. Selected projects will be operated from April to November.
Last year, the district supported five projects with 60 million KRW through the Gender Equality Fund public offering. Innovative programs such as the Career Interrupted Women’s Sex Education Expert Training Course (Seoul Metropolitan Jungnang Youth Sexual Culture Center), Menopause Chat Group (Women’s Environmental Network Chorok Sangsang), and Father Participation Organizing and Storage Education (Healthy Family Multicultural Family Support Center) received enthusiastic responses from many residents.
Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, “I hope many projects that can strengthen women’s capabilities and foster a gender-equal family culture will be discovered this year as well. We will strive to spread a culture of gender equality through the promotion of various women-friendly policies that residents can feel.”
The district operates “Gender Equality Week” annually to reflect on the meaning of gender equality. Last year, an online lecture was held under the theme “Feminism’s Response to the Era of Violence,” and six individuals were awarded commendations for their contributions to gender equality.
