[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Homeplus announced on the 5th that it will relaunch the first series of Mutek Wine, "Chairman Wine," which marked the beginning of ultra-low-cost, cost-effective wines, in celebration of its 24th anniversary.
The three types of Chairman Wine are products introduced through a collaboration between Homeplus and Renmano Winery of Accolade, Australia's No.1 wine company. Chairman Wine, first launched in March last year, received consumer praise for preserving the delicate taste and aroma of well-ripened grapes, and was so popular that all 160,000 bottles prepared were sold out.
Homeplus will sell the three types of Chairman Wine at the same lowest price of 4,990 won as last year. The lineup includes Chairman Shiraz, which combines the rich flavors of strawberry and black cherry with the scent of cedarwood, leaving a long-lasting aftertaste; Chairman Cabernet Sauvignon, which has the flavor of chocolate and oak with fruit aromas lingering in the mouth; and Chairman Chardonnay, featuring a refreshing and rich taste of tropical fruits that anyone can easily enjoy.
A Homeplus representative said, "As the number of home drinkers increased due to COVID-19, this wine market has prepared the largest quantity ever, more than double that of the previous year," and added, "Homeplus will continue to introduce a variety of affordable yet excellent quality wines like Chairman Wine through its unique global sourcing capabilities."
