[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangseo-gu, Seoul (Mayor Noh Hyun-song) held the 'Hwagogbon·8-dong Alleyway Regeneration Service Final Report Meeting' on the afternoon of the 4th at the district office's main conference room, attended by Mayor Noh Hyun-song and 15 project stakeholders.
At the report meeting, Seonlab Architects, who analyzed the direction of alleyway regeneration around Hangul Children's Park in Hwagogbon·8-dong over the past year, set three regeneration goals under the theme of 'Creating Safe and Story-filled Alleyways': a safe and walkable 'Safe Alley,' a facing and sharing 'Sharing Alley,' and a clean and lively 'Bright Alley.'
They then presented detailed action plans based on residents' opinions, including installation of traffic safety road facilities, maintenance of building auxiliary facilities, and installation of smart rest areas.
Based on these proposals, the district plans to promote the creation of pleasant and safe alleyways around Hangul Park in Hwagogbon·8-dong.
Mayor Noh Hyun-song said, “We are striving for balanced regional development to make the entire Gangseo-gu a livable and vibrant place,” adding, “We will actively discover specialized urban regeneration projects reflecting local conditions and do our best to bring out the latent growth potential of the old downtown area.”
