[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Miryang City in Gyeongnam announced on the 4th that it has installed indoor gardens called ‘Smart Gardens’ at Miryang City Library, Arirang Space Observatory, and Arirang Art Center.

The Smart Garden is a facility that brings the healing and relaxation effects of gardens indoors, allowing people to enjoy gardens throughout all four seasons. It automates indoor purification plants with an automatic watering system and lighting control, maintaining optimal indoor temperature, humidity, and fine dust levels to purify the air as well as provide beautiful scenery.

In addition, the psychological stability and healing effects provided by green plants are expected to offer small comfort to citizens.

A Miryang City official stated, “We will develop Miryang into a smart green city by expanding outdoor green spaces as well as indoor green spaces for citizens exhausted by COVID-19.”
