Following the previous day’s deaths of one person each in Goyang and Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, additional deaths occurred on this day, bringing the total number of deaths after vaccination to five.

According to Jeonbuk Province, two people in their 50s with underlying conditions who received the AstraZeneca vaccine died on this day. A(52), a patient hospitalized at a nursing hospital in Jeonju City, received the vaccine around 9 a.m. on the 2nd and died at 1:40 a.m. on this day. A was known to have cerebrovascular disease.

B(58), a patient hospitalized at a nursing hospital in Buan County, was vaccinated at 11 a.m. on the 3rd and died around 2:15 a.m. on this day. B was reported to have conditions such as myocardial infarction and diabetes.

The provincial health authorities plan to hold a meeting with infectious disease experts in the afternoon to determine any correlation with the vaccine. For now, the authorities believe the likelihood of death caused by the vaccination is low.

Additionally, in Daejeon, a woman in her 20s who was hospitalized at a nursing hospital died around 2 a.m. on this day after receiving the AstraZeneca vaccine on the 2nd.
