A Woman in Her 20s Dies Two Days After Receiving AstraZeneca Vaccine in Daejeon

[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] A woman in her 20s in Daejeon died two days after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.

According to Daejeon city quarantine authorities on the 4th, A (28, female), a resident of a nursing hospital located in Dong-gu, Daejeon, passed away around 2 a.m. that day.

Earlier, A received the AstraZeneca vaccine on the 2nd. The city health authorities confirmed that she showed symptoms such as fever starting from the 3rd.

A was a person with severe disabilities and had underlying conditions such as epilepsy. It is reported that she was recently admitted to the nursing hospital due to symptoms including cerebral hemorrhage.

Currently, the city quarantine authorities are investigating the cause of A's death and the causal relationship with the vaccination.
