[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] President Moon Jae-in has ordered an investigation to determine whether the speculation allegations involving some LH employees in the Gwangmyeong and Siheung new towns stem from deeply rooted corruption structures and to eradicate the issue completely.

Kang Min-seok, the Blue House spokesperson, stated at a regular briefing at the Blue House Chunuchwan on the 4th, "President Moon has issued additional instructions regarding the new town speculation allegations."

Spokesperson Kang said, "President Moon instructed to investigate whether the new town speculation allegations were due to individual misconduct by some employees or if they originated from deeply rooted corruption structures and to eradicate the problem completely. He also ordered that institutional improvement measures be prepared to serve as fundamental solutions to structural problems."

However, President Moon emphasized regarding the Board of Audit and Inspection's audit, "It is a matter for the Board of Audit and Inspection to decide," and added, "The government must proactively conduct a swift and strict investigation."
