[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Gimhae City in Gyeongnam announced on the 4th that it will begin construction of a trail project connecting the ecological streams Daecheongcheon, Yulhacheon, and Jomangang.

The city will invest 700 million KRW to start construction next week on the 'Jangyu Green Walking Road,' a trail up to 13.5 km long. The plan is to create a high-quality trail by maximizing the use of existing resources such as parks, culture, and scenery formed along the ecological streams.

To this end, the city will first repair pedestrian route discontinuities in the stream areas and develop a forest bathing course using the Banryongsan hiking trail to expand citizens' options for walking courses that might otherwise be monotonous.

Additionally, the project will be carried out in parallel with the construction of a walkway under Gwandonggyo Bridge to allow easy access to the trail from Yulha 2 Complex. The walking road is expected to become Gimhae's representative trail by linking with the Jomangang ecological stream restoration project, which is scheduled for completion in 2023.

A Gimhae city official stated, "We will do our best to complete the Jangyu Green Walking Road project early to provide a premium resting space for citizens exhausted by COVID-19."
