[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] McDonald's Korea announced on the 4th that it held an internal event to participate in the global International Women's Day campaign and reaffirm its commitment to practicing McDonald's core values of Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion in celebration of 'International Women's Day.'


‘International Women's Day’ is observed annually on March 8th and is an international commemorative day designated by the United Nations (UN) to promote the status of women. In South Korea, it was officially designated as the legal holiday ‘Women's Day’ starting in 2018.


McDonald's Korea plans to continue efforts to create a positive change by challenging everyday gender stereotypes and inequalities, reaffirming McDonald's global vision of respecting diversity, equity, and inclusion, and fostering a work environment favorable for women. Along with this, the company held an internal event for ‘International Women's Day,’ providing a meaningful time for employees to reflect on the significance of the campaign.
