[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] NH Savings Bank announced on the 4th that it received the ‘Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Strategy and Finance Award’ at the ‘2021 11th Happiness Plus Social Contribution Campaign’ jointly hosted by the Korea Journalists Association and the Korea Employers Federation.

The Happiness Plus Social Contribution Campaign rewards companies and organizations that faithfully fulfill their corporate social responsibilities and exemplary social contribution practices.

NH Savings Bank was highly evaluated for its efforts and achievements in social responsibility and social contribution activities, being selected as an excellent social contribution company for the third consecutive year.

One of the representative activities is the annual special sale of the ‘Nongchon Sarang Jeonggi Deposit,’ where 0.1% of the sales amount is accumulated as an agricultural development fund and donated for the welfare and development of agriculture, rural areas, and farmers.

Additionally, to promote urban-rural exchange, as part of the ‘Together Village’ movement, NH Savings Bank has formed sisterhood ties with rural villages and continues rural volunteer activities that provide practical help to farmers during busy farming seasons and in times of disaster and calamity.

Moreover, over the past year, the bank carried out social contribution activities such as ‘One Company One School’ financial support for youth in rural areas, sharing events for Lunar New Year, warm-hearted Chuseok sharing, flower consumption promotion campaigns for farms affected by COVID-19, volunteer activities supporting flood damage recovery, and delivering warmth sharing kits to local neighbors through the Bondong Social Welfare Center.

In February this year, to support flower farmers affected during the graduation and admission season, NH Savings Bank conducted the ‘Flower Consumption Promotion Campaign’ again. By purchasing large quantities of cut flower bouquets, the bank helped consume the flowers produced through the ‘Creating Fragrant Homes’ event involving all employees, providing an opportunity to raise awareness of the difficulties faced by flower farmers.

Choi Kwangsoo, CEO of NH Savings Bank, said, “NH Savings Bank always values support for ordinary people, the spread of a sharing culture, and the value of corporate social responsibility management,” adding, “We will continue to take the lead in spreading the culture of sharing by providing practical support whenever our local community needs help.”
