Korea-US Meeting on December 5 to Conclude Special Agreement on Defense Cost-Sharing

[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo In-ho] The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on the 3rd that the 11th Korea-US Special Measures Agreement (SMA) meeting will be held on the 5th (local time) in Washington DC, USA.

On the Korean side, Jeong Eun-bo, the Korea-US defense cost-sharing negotiation ambassador, and on the US side, Donna Welton, the US Department of State defense cost-sharing negotiation representative (Senior Advisor for Political-Military Affairs), will attend the meeting as the chief representatives of both countries.

A government official stated, "Based on the discussions so far, we hope that discussions will be held to reach a mutually acceptable agreement as soon as possible," adding, "Through this, we will contribute to strengthening the Korea-US alliance and combined defense posture."
