[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Muan County, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) announced that on March 3rd, in celebration of Samgyeopsal Day, it held a consumption promotion campaign called ‘Our Pork Eating Day’ at the county office and the Agricultural Technology Center cafeteria to support livestock farmers.

On this day, the Korea Pork Producers Association Muan County Branch (Branch Chief Park Moon-jae) prepared approximately 150kg of Korean pork as bossam and provided it free of charge for lunch to promote pork consumption and its excellence.

Governor Kim San and the staff actively participated in the domestic pork eating campaign by tasting boiled samgyeopsal, and promised to take the lead in consuming our pork with their families at home as well.

Governor Kim San urged, “Please love our Muan pork, which is of good quality and helps strengthen immunity,” and added, “I hope this event will serve as an opportunity to revitalize pig farmers and the local community who have been discouraged by the prolonged COVID-19 consumption slump.”

Meanwhile, Muan County is striving to increase pig farming income by supporting 1.827 billion KRW for 16 projects, including livestock facility modernization projects aimed at cost reduction and productivity improvement.
