Imsil-gun Puts All Efforts into Okjeongho Scenic Development

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Nosik] Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk is putting great effort into creating a beautiful Okjeongho landscape filled with flowers throughout the four seasons.

According to the county on the 3rd, they have started spring preparations for the Okjeongho landscape by reorganizing the existing flower bed near Unamgyo Bridge along the Okjeongho circular road to create a small flower bed where visitors can enjoy the fragrance of flowers all year round.

The county is investing about 65 million won to plant shrubs and herbaceous plants such as hydrangeas, bleeding hearts, and Korean asters, and install landscape lighting to make the flower bed stand out even more.

They also plan to create a small flower bed where visitors can appreciate the beautiful colors of multicolored flowers and enjoy their fragrance throughout the four seasons.

Through the creation of the small flower bed, they aim to provide a resting place where local residents and tourists visiting Okjeongho can stay and enjoy the scenic views of Okjeongho and Unam Bridge.

Additionally, they are promoting fertilization projects to ensure more abundant roses this summer on the approximately 15 km section along the Okjeongho circular road, where about 6,000 climbing roses are currently planted.

They are also making efforts to plant about 300 new climbing roses so that beautiful roses can be seen along the Okjeongho waterfront.

Furthermore, to create a healthy and pleasant streetscape along the cherry blossom tree-lined road on the Okjeongho circular road, which was selected as one of the “100 Beautiful Roads of Korea,” they plan to replenish missing trees and carry out systematic maintenance.

County Governor Shim Min said, “We are creating attractive landscapes wherever the feet of local residents tired from COVID-19 and tourists visiting Okjeongho touch,” and added, “We expect many tourists from all over the country to flock like clouds to see the beautiful Okjeongho scenery.”
