Sein Homesys, JM Double U, and Others
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] A policy to support the production of broadcast advertisements for innovative companies to help create the 'second Market Kurly and Jacomo' is being promoted.
The Korea Communications Commission announced on the 3rd that a total of 46 companies were selected as recipients of this year's 'Innovative Small and Medium Enterprise Broadcast Advertisement Activation Support Project.'
Among the TV advertisement support recipients are 26 companies including Sein Homesys and JM Double, and among the radio advertisement support recipients are 20 companies including Neodreams and Blue Indus.
The Innovative Small and Medium Enterprise Broadcast Advertisement Activation Support Project provides production cost support to small and medium enterprises with excellent technological capabilities but find it difficult to produce broadcast advertisements due to cost burdens. The KCC has been conducting this project with the Korea Broadcast Advertising Corporation since 2015, and companies such as Market Kurly, Jacomo, and Tasty Nine have previously received advertisement production support.
Applications were accepted from January 28 to February 10 through the Korea Broadcast Advertising Corporation's dedicated website for the small and medium enterprise broadcast advertisement support project, with a total of 96 SMEs applying. Among them, a final evaluation was conducted last month for 93 companies.
Selected companies will receive support for up to 45 million KRW within 50% of the production cost for TV advertisements, and up to 3 million KRW within 70% of the production cost for radio advertisements. The total scale of broadcast advertisement production cost support this year is 1.23 billion KRW.
Selected companies will be provided with information on the entire process from broadcast advertisement production to transmission, and customized consulting will be offered free of charge upon request. Innovative SMEs can also receive up to a 70% discount on broadcast advertisement transmission fees on terrestrial broadcasters and comprehensive programming channels after a separate evaluation.
Chairman Han Sang-hyuk stated, “Since SMEs play a pivotal role in our country's national competitiveness, we will continue to support them through effective broadcast advertisement production support to contribute to their growth and revitalize the broadcast advertisement market.”
