[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] KB Kookmin Card announced on the 3rd that it will hold an event to celebrate the 1st anniversary of the launch of the 'KB Kookmin Pengsoo Noricheck Card.'

The event will run from the 8th to the 31st, during which 100 customers who apply daily will be selected by lottery to receive a limited edition Pengsoo puzzle. Among the winners, customers who complete the Pengsoo puzzle and post it on their social networking service (SNS) will be entered into a draw where 10 people will receive a Pengsoo Gold Card worth 7.5 grams (2 don) of gold.

Additionally, during the event period, customers who place a pickup order of 12,000 KRW or more per transaction using the Pengsoo check card registered on the 'Happy Order' application at ▲Paris Baguette ▲Baskin Robbins ▲Dunkin ▲Pascucci will receive a 5,000 KRW cashback. The cashback benefit is provided once per brand and up to four times per customer during the event period.

The Pengsoo check card, celebrating its 1st anniversary, was the first product in the card industry to feature the trending character 'Pengsoo' in its card design, generating buzz even before its release. The number of issued cards reached 200,000 within 26 days of launch, 300,000 within 95 days, and surpassed 400,000 within one year.

Analysis of approximately 465,000 cards issued from February 17 last year to February 16 this year showed that customers in their 20s accounted for the largest share at 37.5%. This was followed by customers in their 30s (29.6%), 40s (15.1%), and teens (8.3%), reflecting the card’s nickname as the 'President of the 20s and 30s' with a high issuance rate among the 2030 generation.

By gender, women accounted for 69.3%, more than twice the number of men (30.7%). Regarding issuance channels, influenced by the spread of untact culture, online channels such as internet and mobile accounted for 66.9%, higher than offline channels such as branches (33.1%).

In response to customers’ interest and support for the Pengsoo check card, KB Kookmin Card extended the sales period of this product, which was originally scheduled to be sold until February 16 this year, by one year until February 16 next year. Customers can choose from three card designs?Pengka, Pengmoticon, and Pengyomi?and apply for issuance through the KB Kookmin Card website and app, KB Kookmin Bank branches, and KB Kookmin Bank’s Star Banking app.
