According to the Jeju Provincial Council on the 2nd, employee A from the General Affairs Office of the council tested positive for COVID-19 around 10 p.m. on the 1st.
As a result, the agendas of six standing committees scheduled for that day were postponed.
Chairman Jwa Nam-su, classified as a contact of A, has entered self-quarantine.
About 30 employees from the General Affairs Office also underwent COVID-19 testing and were placed under self-quarantine.
A is in charge of protocol for Chairman Jwa Nam-su and is known to have recently visited other regions.
The council immediately conducted disinfection and sterilization of the assembly hall and the members' office building and is awaiting the test results of the chairman and staff.
A council official stated, "Among the council members, only Chairman Jwa Nam-su is currently in self-quarantine," adding, "Only the General Affairs Office where A worked is temporarily closed, while other departments are operating normally."
