[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] The Gangdong Police Station in Seoul announced on the 2nd that it will launch a pre-registration campaign for fingerprints and other data in collaboration with the burger and chicken brand Mom's Touch.
Through this campaign, they will produce tray mats (paper tray liners) containing QR codes that provide information on the subjects and methods of fingerprint pre-registration, as well as allow direct registration via the 'Safe Dream' application. More than 500,000 of these will be distributed monthly to 1,314 Mom's Touch stores nationwide.
The fingerprint pre-registration system is designed to help early detection of missing persons by pre-entering personal information including fingerprints, photos, and contact details of children under 18, individuals with intellectual disabilities, and dementia patients. Registration is possible through the Safe Dream website or app, or at nearby police stations.
Additionally, in response to the surge in delivery and takeout demand due to COVID-19, customized promotions using packaging materials will be implemented.
A Gangdong Police Station official stated, "As reports of missing dementia patients increase in an aging society, we will focus on promoting pre-registration for various groups to help prevent disappearances."
